The most notable include: Pinotage: A uniquely South African cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault, known for its bold, fruity flavours.  Chenin Blanc, CinsaultCarignan.  These varieties highlight South Africa's rich viticultural heritage and innovative winemaking.

South Africa’s wine regions include:

1. Cape Winelands: Encompassing several key areas such as Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek, known for their premium wines and scenic vineyards.
2. Elgin: A cooler region ideal for producing high-quality white wines and Pinot Noir.
3. Walker Bay: Includes Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, known for its cool climate and excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
4. Swartland: Celebrated for its robust reds and innovative winemaking, particularly Shiraz and Grenache.
5. Robertson: Renowned for its excellent value wines, especially in Chenin Blanc and Shiraz.
